Job Description

Community Resilience Support Coordinator (Level 3)

Newton Aycliffe, Bluebell Hub

Full Time (37.5 hours per week), 12 months Fixed term (Potential to be extended)

Salary of £21,300 per annum [pro rata]

We have a fabulous opportunity to work as part of a brand new Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) partnership between Home Group, Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), Age UK County Durham, East Durham Development Trust Ltd (EDT), Northern Learning Trust and Upper Teasdale Agricultural Support Services (UTASS) that makes up the County Durham COVID-19 Resilience Team.

Representing Home Group you will champion our values, passion and drive whilst building on the excellent reputation of our services and organisation within the wider network. The County Durham COVID-19 Resilience Team will provide a multi-agency, local response for the communities across County Durham to access local wellbeing and psychological support for COVID-19-specific mental health and emotional wellbeing needs. The team will provide dedicated support to local people and communities and work closely with existing services and projects.

As a Community Resilience Worker you will work in a range of settings within the Sedgefield North area and support the development and delivery of focused outreach work. Your role within this team will be to support local people, manage a caseload and ensure the service delivers effective motivational support to assist behaviour change. You will be confident to work with people at all levels, forging working relationships particularly other partners and supporting referrals when necessary.

About our team

You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our brilliant manager is Edd Finn who has worked for the Wellbeing & Recovery Service for over 9 years has a real passion for supporting customers and enabling them to achieve their goals. There are 12 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Working hours

You will work 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday generally 9am to 5pm however, you may need to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you too!

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.

You’ll help change our customer’s lives (and our services) for the better by undertaking risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. You’ll create bespoke and personalised support plans with and for your customers. Each plan will look to meet our customer’s individual needs and aspirations, making sure they meet safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience delivering support to vulnerable people, and have knowledge of safeguarding. We want someone like you, with the passion and motivation for helping vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. It’s important to us that you have the compassion and empathy to work with vulnerable people in a housing related social care setting.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

As you’ll be responding to the needs of our service across the North Sedgefiled area you will be really flexible and willing to travel across the whole of the area at short notice in some cases. This is why we need you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
