Plus, sleep in enhancements and brilliant benefits!

Delivering support with a difference. That’s when it hits home.

We have a rewarding opportunity for you to join our Transforming Care team, helping our brilliant customers to live a fulfilling life in their own home within the local community. We are currently recruiting for two customers.

Customer one: You will be supporting our gentleman customer who is a young man in his 30’s. He has complex needs including mild intellectual disability, which is associated with epilepsy and abnormal aggressive and irresponsible behaviour. He has many a keen interest and if you’re a Manchester United fan, you’ll get on just brilliantly! On top of that, he likes to go shopping and play pool where he considers himself to be the “pool King”. He is proud to say he gets on with everyone as long as you are respectful and spend time getting to know him. He does not like having to repeat himself and likes to have some time alone when he is feeling low.

Customer two: You will be supporting our wonderful customer who is a lady in her 40’s, who has complex needs including autism, challenging behaviours and a forensic history. She is looking for a calm and patient support team to assist with her daily living activities. With a wide range of interests from cooking to taking photos and visiting charity shops, it’s important to her that her team can also share her passion for these interests. Structure is a big part in our customers life, and you’ll be able to create a structured environment without being restrictive as constraints can often make her feel anxious. She can get very anxious out in the community so you will need to able to provide consistent support when she is finding things a difficult.

About our team

You’ll be working alongside our fantastic Regional Transforming Care Manager, and Lucy our Deputy Manager, as well as our brand-new team of PBS Support Workers and clinical colleagues who are super passionate about supporting our customer to reach their goals and celebrate their achievements.

Where you’ll work

You’ll work primarily with one of our customers in their own home in Ashford, as well as supporting them in the community. But there may be opportunities to work with our other customers in Kent! You can use public transport to support our customers and we’ll pay your expenses to cover this!

Working hours

Our customers’ need 24/7 help to meet their needs, so you’ll take your turn with your team working on a rota. Shifts available include days, evenings, weekends, bank holidays or waking nights. You may also be required to do sleep ins, in which an enhancement will be paid. As we’re asking you to be flexible for our customer, we’ll also give you the time back that you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About you

You’re passionate and motivated and will impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing our customers to work towards their goals and aspirations. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively. You’ll also be willing to provide personal care when required, so some experience in physical assistance to help wash, (shower or bath) dress, oral care is also highly desirable.

You’ll have relevant experience and it would also be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are important to us. You’ll ideally hold Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent or be willing to study for this which we’ll support you with.

One of our customers doesn’t do well on public transport, therefore it would be beneficial if you had a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
