Job Description

Mental Health Practice Lead

Covering our services across County Durham

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Brilliant work/life balance!

Salary of £33,250 to £43,050 per annum, plus brilliant benefits!

Brilliant outcomes through integrated health, housing and care. That’s when it hits home.

This is your chance to be part of something brilliant at Home Group, where clinical interventions work hand in hand with daily support. You’ll be joining us on our exciting journey to become market leaders in New Models of Care by 2021. We’re trailblazing the way in delivering brilliant long-term outcomes for vulnerable people through integrating health, housing and care.

We have a brilliant opportunity for you to join our services across County Durham, which provides support to young people (aged 16 to 25 years) and adults over 18 years with mental health issues and complex needs. Our service enables people to move on from 24 hour supported living, to semi-independent shared living, to living independently in the community…how amazing is that!

As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you’ll be developing our Support Workers to ensure that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety, recovery, wellbeing and maximises customers independence.

As an experienced clinician, you’ll lead practice development, developing and delivering specialist training packages to our colleagues, embedding core competencies as well as oversight of clinical supervision. You’ll also be the point of contact for individual support and coaching of the Managers in our services. You’ll be really enhancing colleagues’ knowledge and skills, promoting regular, honest and supportive feedback.

What’s even more brilliant, you’ll be able to really make your mark (there’s no red tape or mounds of paperwork here!). You’ll be shaping our services, developing essential standards and quality outcomes. With customer care at the forefront of everything we do, you will inspire others and advocate a philosophy of care that is person centred, maintains dignity, independence and ensures it is right for that person at that time.

You’ll enable us to maintain high standards of support and intervention to contribute to achieving the Care Quality Commission Essential Standards.

On a day to day basis, you’ll report to Kara our brilliant Senior Client Services Manager with your clinical supervision provided by our fantastic Clinical Practice team. The team love to catch up each week to discuss new interventions that have really helped our customers.

A bit about us

We’re Home Group one of the UK’s biggest providers of high-quality housing and care and support services. We have a wealth of expertise and deliver a wide range of specialist and support services to people with complex health and social care needs. We recognise the diverse needs communities have and provide a team of specialists and clinicians within our business, supporting the NHS’s commitment to improving health and wellbeing through innovative new models of care.

And also, did we mention that we rank no.7 in the UK’s Best Large Places to Work and 17th in Stonewalls Top 100 employers??? Yes, that’s right!!

A bit about you

It goes without saying that you’ll be a Registered Mental Health Nurse and hold relevant professional qualifications. You’ll have experience of working with young people and adults with ill mental health as well as managing, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating training to colleagues on an individual and group basis.

You’ll have an eye for detail, being able to analyse complex data and make expert judgements. You’ll really impress us with your ability to unleash the potential of colleagues through offering clinical advice, coaching, mentoring and training. You’ll also bring a creative spark and ability to understand where our customers are in their lives, using evidence-based practice, care delivery and current occupational therapy-based interventions.

Here at Home Group we have invested heavily in our future and use current and up to date equipment. You’ll be issued with the latest kit, which could include a Surface Pro and mobile. So, it's important to us that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

As the role covers our services across County Durham, you'll need to have a full current driving licence and access to a car for work purposes with business insurance cover. Don’t worry, we'll pay you for your mileage!

An Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service is required for this role and will be paid for by us if successful
