Plus, brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home!

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who can be challenging and volatile at times but are hugely rewarding to work with! Our customers are young people at risk of homelessness, who are aged between 16 and 25, and almost 80% of them have a Mental Health diagnosis. We help them in the areas of emotional support, practical support, advice and advocacy.

Our customers live in a large building in the city centre of Newcastle. They live in one of 52 single person en-suite bedrooms (that are fully furnished) and share communal living facilities and kitchens. We also have a common room where we provide a calendar of regular activities, as well as a courtyard which our customers can use whenever they like. We have a total of 20 fully furnished, self-contained flats, each with a bedroom, living room and a kitchen where some of our customers live. We help our customers to change their lives and support them to work towards achieving their aspirations. We deliver the support that has been identified in the individual plans that are created in partnership with our Support Coordinators and our customers.

What we can tell you is that each day is totally different, so if you’re looking for a calm stable role, then this is not the job for you! If you thrive on a challenge, where each day is different and where you can positively influence a young person to make lasting changes to their lives, then keep reading!

As a Support Coordinator you will lead the Support Workers with service delivery, meeting our key performance indicators and ensuring we deliver our customer promise. You’ll work in partnership with our external partners and with your Home Group colleagues to assess and engage support for your customers. Together you’ll really make a difference, and work towards helping your customers successfully move on with a positive future!

About our team

You’ll be working alongside and leading our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘big work family’. There are about 30 of us all together in the team, some who have been at Home Group a long time and others who are new to the role, like you will be!

The great news is that you will be supported by a fantastic team of managers Emma, Kerry and Alex and our Senior Client Services Manager, Stacey. They don’t just love to support our customers, but make sure that we are there for each other too, they are a canny bunch!

Working hours

You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 8am and 8pm, these are full 12-hour shifts and include working weekends. What that means is that while your working day is a long one, you do get at least 3 days off per week and 2 weekends off per month! We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but in return we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you, be it your child’s school play, your partner’s graduation, or to get your new fridge delivered!

Bank

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customer’s lives for the better. You’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our other Support Coordinators, Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together we’ll make a difference!

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover lette
