Overview

An excellent Registered Manager position has been created as a result of expansion at an established, highly-reputable and quality driven independent children's services provider to open and run a new home - pioneering the Welsh arm of the business. You will be involved in the registration of the home with CIW, including overseeing the full staff team recruitment, writing the Statement of Purpose and Young People's Guide, and liaising with the Local Authority to receive referrals. This role has fantastic progression opportunities with immense impending growth in the surrounding area.

The Candidate

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for:

Managing the residential home, ensuring the efficient operation of the provision in accordance with the relevant legislation, procedures and policies

Recruiting the staff team including vetting, interviewing and inducting new employees

Providing a comprehensive staff training and development programme, ensuring the staff team have all access to all necessary skills and level of expertise required to meet the needs of the young people

Developing and maintaining positive, appropriate relationships with and between staff, young people and other stakeholders

Safeguarding and promoting individual rights, providing the highest quality care possible

Promoting appropriate and therapeutic relationships between staff and young people and their families, promoting the children and young people's involvement and participation in the day-to-day life of the home

Requirements

As the Registered Manager, you will have/be:

Experience working in a management position with children with complex behaviour - including LD, autism or mental health

Proven ability to effectively lead a team of staff

Experience opening a Welsh provision is advantageous but not essential

Excellent knowledge of CIW standards as well as all other relevant legislation and guidelines

Experience in managing referrals and working in a multi-disciplinary team

NVQ Level 3 (CYP) Children & Young People - or equivalent

NVQ Level 5 (CYP) Children & Young People - desirable but not essential

Able and comfortable working autonomously, making independent decisions

Ambitious with a genuine desire to improve the lives of the children and young people in the home
