Southampton City Council is on the lookout for an experienced Youth Justice Officer to join their dynamic Youth Justice Service on a 3-month locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact supporting children and young people who are involved in, or at risk of, entering the youth justice system. The role offers a highly competitive salary of £24.53 per hour and a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.

What you will do:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people subject to statutory court orders and pre-court interventions
- Complete assessments, reports, and intervention plans in line with Youth Justice Board standards
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, police, courts, and partner agencies
- Support safeguarding, risk management, and public protection processes
- Attend court, panels, and multi-agency meetings as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a Youth Justice Service or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of youth justice legislation, safeguarding, and risk assessment
- Ability to manage caseloads effectively and work to tight deadlines
- Enhanced DBS check required or willingness to obtain one
