Team Leader - 8-Bed Complex Care
Location: Salisbury
Salary: £31,351 per annum
Hours: Full-time
I am recruiting on behalf of a specialist complex care provider for a Team Leader to join an 8-bed service supporting individuals with complex care and support needs.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service and will be the first point of contact for Support Workers, providing guidance, leadership and support to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills within a specialist care environment.
The Role
As Team Leader, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the service runs effectively and consistently, supporting both the people who use the service and the wider staff team.
You will:
- Act as the first point of contact for Support Workers on a day-to-day basis
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to support the overall running of the service
- Lead, motivate and support the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Provide guidance and support to staff throughout their shifts
- Assist with staff supervision, development and performance management
- Help ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed and kept up to date
- Support effective safeguarding and incident management procedures
- Promote independence, dignity and positive outcomes for the people supported
- Assist with staff rotas and the effective deployment of the team
- Ensure high standards of communication, record keeping and care documentation
- Support the Registered Manager with compliance and quality requirements
- Help maintain a safe, positive and supportive environment for both residents and staff
- Work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals where required

Essential Criteria
- Previous experience working within a complex care or supported living environment
- Proven experience leading, supervising or supporting a team
- Strong understanding of person-centred care and support
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident providing guidance and support to Support Workers
- Level 4 qualification, or willingness to work towards this
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and care planning
- Ability to work closely with a Registered Manager and wider professional team
- Positive, flexible and proactive approach to care
- Full UK driving licence
