About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Independent Living Team in Newcastle. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing tailored support to individuals with diverse needs, empowering them to live more independently and confidently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to two young adults transitioning from college, assisting with essential living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and personal organisation.

  • Plan, encourage, and participate in social and recreational activities to promote engagement, confidence, and wellbeing.

  • Support individuals in attending medical and health-related appointments, helping them maintain their independence and wellbeing.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care and support plans.

  • Respond flexibly to changing needs, demonstrating empathy and adaptability in all situations.

  • Safely manage and de-escalate behaviours of concern, maintaining a calm and supportive living environment.
