
Support worker
Service: Learning Disability & Autism
Location: Birmingham
Shift Pattern: 3 days on / 3 days off (Days or Nights)
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Role Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism to live fulfilling, meaningful, and independent lives. Whether working days or nights, you will provide consistent, high-quality support tailored to each individual's needs, preferences, and aspirations.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote independence, wellbeing, safety, and inclusion, while ensuring care is delivered in line with CQC standards, best practice, and person-centred values.
Key Responsibilities
Care & Support
Provide person-centred support to individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism in line with their support plans.
Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication support, household tasks, and maintaining their living environment.
Promote independence, choice, dignity, and respect at all times.
Support individuals to access the community, leisure activities, education, and social opportunities (day staff).
Provide calm, reassuring support during night shifts, including sleep-ins or waking nights, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
Shift Pattern
3 days on / 3 days off rota
Day shifts and night shifts available
Candidates must be able to commit to this rota pattern
Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays as required
