Superior Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and resilient Support Worker for our client in Broadstairs to provide one-to-one support to an individual with challenging behavior. The role requires patience, quick thinking, and a genuine interest in the individual's hobbies and day-to-day wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with identifying potential triggers and interpreting early warning signs of behavior escalation.
- De-escalate and defuse challenging episodes in a calm, safe, and professional manner to minimize impact.
- Provide respectful prompts and encouragement around daily living tasks, including meal preparation and eating, ensuring balance without over-prompting.
- Prepare and cook meals to meet personal preferences and dietary requirements.
- Engage with the person's personal interests and hobbies, which include:
- Reptiles and snakes
- Tropical plants and cacti
- Long walks
- Fishing
- Gardening
- Learning and discussions about Chernobyl
- Promote independence while offering consistent, compassionate support tailored to the individual's needs.

Responsibilities
- Support individuals with learning disabilities and autism
- Work flexibly as a part of a team, adapting to the needs of the service users
- Plan and facilitate activities such as walks and gardening.
- Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, cooking, shopping, activities, while promoting independence.

- A valid driving licence.
- Minimum six months care experience in UK
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in to communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
- Ability to commit to minimum 2x12h shifts per week
- Confident in meal preparation and cooking.
- Willing to actively participate in, and encourage, the person's interests and chosen activities.
