Support Worker in Broadstairs- £12.21 - £14.50 per hour

Superior Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and resilient Support Worker for our client in Broadstairs to provide one-to-one support to an individual with challenging behavior. The role requires patience, quick thinking, and a genuine interest in the individual's hobbies and day-to-day wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support with identifying potential triggers and interpreting early warning signs of behavior escalation.
  • De-escalate and defuse challenging episodes in a calm, safe, and professional manner to minimize impact.
  • Provide respectful prompts and encouragement around daily living tasks, including meal preparation and eating, ensuring balance without over-prompting.
  • Prepare and cook meals to meet personal preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Engage with the person's personal interests and hobbies, which include:
    • Reptiles and snakes
    • Tropical plants and cacti
    • Long walks
    • Fishing
    • Gardening
    • Learning and discussions about Chernobyl
  • Promote independence while offering consistent, compassionate support tailored to the individual's needs.

  • Support individuals with learning disabilities and autism
  • Work flexibly as a part of a team, adapting to the needs of the service users
  • Plan and facilitate activities such as walks and gardening.
  • Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, cooking, shopping, activities, while promoting independence.

Requirements
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Minimum six months care experience in UK
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in to communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
  • Ability to commit to minimum 2x12h shifts per week
  • Confident in meal preparation and cooking.
  • Willing to actively participate in, and encourage, the person's interests and chosen activities.
