Substance Misuse HCA within SUBX - MH Recovery Worker in Norwich, earning £17.00 per hour. This full-time locum opportunity offers Monday to Friday working hours from 9am to 5pm for an initial 3-month contract. This role is ideal for an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to support individuals affected by substance misuse while working within a multidisciplinary environment focused on recovery and wellbeing.

What you will do

  • Clinical Support: Carry out blood tests and health checks for service users.
  • Physical Observations: Monitor and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturations, and weight.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation.
  • Service User Support: Provide practical and emotional support within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Health Monitoring: Assist in identifying health concerns and escalating appropriately.
  • Care Delivery: Contribute to the delivery of high-quality care and recovery-focused interventions.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Healthcare Assistant Experience: Previous experience working as an HCA is essential.
  • Phlebotomy Skills: Competent in venepuncture and blood collection procedures.
  • Clinical Skills: Ability to undertake and record physical observations accurately.
  • ECG Experience: Desirable but not essential.
  • Substance Misuse Knowledge: Experience within substance misuse, mental health, or community services is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with service users.
