What You Will Do:

  • Lead and quality assure comprehensive pre-birth risk assessments, ensuring compliance with statutory and local safeguarding guidance.

  • Provide expert advice and supervision to social workers handling complex unborn child protection cases.

  • Develop outcome-focused intervention plans, supporting families in creating safe and nurturing environments.

  • Chair and coordinate multi-agency meetings, promoting effective collaboration among healthcare and social care partners.

  • Prepare and present high-quality reports and evidence for court proceedings and planning meetings.

  • Mentor and support practitioners and students, championing best practice and professional growth.

  • Contribute to service improvement projects, enhancing pre-birth pathways and safeguarding practices across Durham County Council.

Salary range

  • £32.73 per hour
