This is an exciting development for EIP services in North Kent following recent investment to develop an At Risk Mental State Service (ARMS). This is a service working jointly with EIP focussing on delaying or preventing a transition to psychosis and reducing the need for people to access other services within the organisation.
We welcome applications from health professionals who are keen to improve the future outcomes for young people. The At Risk Mental State (ARMS) service works with 14 to 35 year olds with (a view to/the intention of) preventing the development of first episode of psychosis. This job will appeal to someone who is keen to work in an intensive way, with a focus on psychosocial intervention.
The team will comprise of a, Senior CBT therapist, CBT Therapists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Community Mental Health Practitioners. The team will provide comprehensive assessment and formulation for people aged 14 to 35 years who present who are at ultra-high risk of psychosis.
This role is based in North Kent (DA1 2DL), but you will have to cover the Medway area.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
The ARMS health care professional is a key member of the multidisciplinary team who will be involved in the assessment of young people at ultra-high risk of developing psychosis.
Working alongside psychologists and CBT therapists you will provide interventions for co-existing difficulties.
Please note that we use a clinical assessment tool, and the post holder will be provided with training and support to undertake these.

- Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Occupational Therapist /Social Worker
- Up to date registration
- Diploma working with psychosis or Thorn accredited.

- Minimum of 2 years post registration experience
- Significant experience of working with service users with mental health problems
- Experience and skills in clinical assessment.
- Experience of working with service users with psychosis and their carers.
- Experience of working with service users aged 14-17.
- Experience of working with Dual Diagnosis service users.
- Experience of the use of evidence-based interventions relating to the care of service users with first episode of psychosis
