Residential Deputy Manager - Children's EBD Home (Handsworth, Birmingham)
Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
Salary: £29,991 - £34,791 per annum (depending on experience)
Sleeps: £50 per sleep
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Shift Pattern: Mixture of shift work and 1-2 admin days per week
Howard Finley Care is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced and motivated Residential Deputy Manager for a children's residential home in Handsworth, Birmingham, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident senior practitioner looking to step into a Deputy Manager role, or for an experienced Deputy seeking a new challenge within a supportive and well-structured service. You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager, leading staff teams, and ensuring high-quality, child-centred care is delivered at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff teams
- Act as a role model in delivering consistent, high-quality care to young people
- Ensure safeguarding practices, care planning, and risk management are robust and compliant
- Support with staff development, rotas, audits, and administrative duties
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Team Leader in a children's residential home or currently working as a Deputy Manager - essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare - essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management - preferred but not essential
- Willingness to work a combination of shifts, admin days, and sleep-ins
