Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

Leeds
£50,000 - £55,000 + potential bonus

An established social care provider is opening a new children's residential home in Leeds and is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead the service through its final setup and opening phase.

Although this will be the organisation's first children's home, they are already well-established within social care and have strong existing relationships with local authority commissioning teams, who are keen to see the home open and develop.

The Home

  • A beautifully renovated 4-bed property, operating as a 2-child placement
  • Primary focus on EBD, with flexibility to support LD depending on the Manager's experience
  • Planning permission approved
  • Renovation and policies largely complete
  • Final finishing touches and document reviews to be completed with the incoming Manager's input

Support & Setup

This role comes with significant support:

  • An experienced Responsible Individual (RI) is already in place
  • The RI has many years' experience managing children's homes
  • You will be fully supported with registration, setup, and operational systems
  • You will not be expected to establish the home alone

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the final stages of the home's setup and registration
  • Recruiting, developing, and managing the staff team
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted and regulatory standards
  • Creating a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment for young people
  • Building strong relationships with commissioners and professionals
  • Establishing a high-quality, compliant service from opening

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be an experienced Registered Manager
  • Must have been previously registered with Ofsted
  • Proven experience managing a children's residential home
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or currently working towards completion)
  • Strong knowledge of EBD
  • Confident supporting the setup of a new service with senior support

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
  • Bonus structure
  • Supportive senior leadership and realistic expectations

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-quality new home, with the backing of an experienced RI and an organisation committed to doing things properly from day one.
