Location: Sunderland
Salary: From £48,000 per annum (negotiable for the right candidate)
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Home: Brand-new 4-bedded children's residential home (Learning Disabilities)

Howard Finley Care is delighted to be working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager for a brand-new 4-bedded children's residential home in Sunderland supporting young people with learning disabilities.

This is a great opportunity to join a brand-new service with excellent facilities, giving you the chance to shape the team, culture, and standards from the start. You'll be supported by a family-orientated provider that truly values its staff and offers strong backing from senior leadership.

Key Duties:

• Lead the opening and ongoing management of a 4-bedded learning disability service, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a committed staff team delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that supports positive outcomes for young people.
• Maintain strong relationships with families, professionals, and external agencies.
• Drive quality assurance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the service.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager within children's residential care - essential
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential
• Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and compliance - essential
• Experience supporting children with learning disabilities - desirable
• Passion for leading new services and developing teams - essential
