What you will do:

  • Carry out inspections of private sector housing to ensure compliance with housing legislation and health and safety standards.
  • Identify and assess housing hazards using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
  • Take enforcement action where necessary to address non-compliance and improve housing conditions.
  • Manage housing compliance projects, including HMO licensing and related regulatory work.
  • Maintain accurate case records and prepare reports to support enforcement activities and policy development.
  • Work collaboratively with council departments and external stakeholders to promote safe and secure housing standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience in private sector housing enforcement and housing-related legislation.
  • Strong knowledge of HHSRS and housing compliance procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.

Salary range

  • £38 per hour
