Description
Priory is looking to recruit a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join the team based at Mount View House.This is a full time, 37.5 hourrole.
This is a regional role so there will be some travel to Rochdale, Leeds, Wakefield and Hull East Riding region - as and when required.
Mount View House is located in the village of Syke near Rochdale, in Greater Manchester. We are in a beautiful rural setting on the edge of Whitworth Moor in the South Pennines. Mount View offers residential support to eight autistic males and females. Although primarily for over 18s, we can support individuals who are 17 and moving from children's services.
Our goal is to support the people we are caring for to create and achieve goals to meet their own expectations to lead a fulfilled and enriched life. We recognise that autistic people have the same aspirations and expectations as everyone else and should be empowered to achieve these.
We can also support autistic individuals that also have a learning disability, or may present behaviours that challenge.
What you'll be doing
The PBS practitioner will work closely with the people we support, colleague teams and stakeholders to develop and deliver Positive Behaviour Support for individuals and services.
The post holder will use their expertise to support predominantly in the following areas:
What you'll bring to the role
We are looking for a qualified professional with a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (e.g., BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, or equivalent) and either qualified or willing to work towards PROACT-SCIPr-UK® Instructor status.
The ideal candidate will have strong person-centred values, excellent communication skills, leadership experience, and a solid understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and Applied Behaviour Analysis.
Experience in behavioural assessment, intervention development, and supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism is essential.
Candidates should also have a proven track record in reducing restrictive practices, delivering PBS training, and strong skills in record-keeping and report writing. Knowledge of relevant legal frameworks, including the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and safeguarding, is required.

- Development and implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, including Functional Behaviour Assessment
- Practice Leadership and Practice workshops
- Incident support, analysis and colleague debrief
- Staff training & development
