Priory is looking for a dedicated Positive Behaviour Specialist to join our team at a brand-new, nurse-led residential service in Melton Mowbray supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering a pioneering service.
This is a full time 37.5 hours role.

We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual care plans, undertaking tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.

What you'll be doing

- Demonstrate best practice in the implementation of PBS, working with individuals, colleagues, key stakeholders, internal and external multidisciplinary teams, and families.
- Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments.
- Develop and implement PBS plans.
- Provide staff training and development, including PBS, practice workshops, and other associated training.
- Lead the development and implementation of Restrictive Practice Reduction plans.
- Work with site leaders to develop and deliver person-centred, proportionate risk management procedures.
- Review and debrief incidents.
- Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings as required.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards and statutory regulations.
- Complete mandatory and additional training relevant to the role as required.
What you'll bring to the role

- Formal qualification in PBS or related field (e.g., BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS/ABA Graduate Diploma).
- Experience in conducting behavioural assessments and developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with challenging behaviour.
- History of providing direct support to people with Mental Health diagnosis and behaviours of concern.
- Detailed understanding of the legal frameworks and processes relevant to the role (e.g., Mental Capacity Act (2007), Safeguarding, risk management).
