Description
Are you ready for an exciting new opportunity to be part of something special? Priory is looking for a dedicated Positive Behaviour Specialist to join our team at a brand-new, nurse-led residential service in Melton Mowbray supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping and delivering a pioneering service.

This is a full time 37.5 hours role.

What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
  • Develop and implement individualised Positive Behaviour Support plans to reduce challenging behaviours and promote skill development for children, adolescents, or adults with learning disabilities or autism.
  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments to identify the underlying causes of behaviours and design proactive, person-centred interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and effective support across all environments.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and caregivers on behaviour management techniques and communication strategies to improve quality of life and independence.
  • Monitor and review support plans regularly, using data-driven approaches to evaluate progress and adapt strategies as needed.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification in psychology, social work, or a related health or social care field, with specific training or certification in Positive Behaviour Support. Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex behavioural needs is essential, along with strong skills in functional behaviour assessment and behaviour plan development. The candidate should be confident in working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, providing training and support to caregivers, and using data to monitor and adapt interventions. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to person-centred, ethical practice are required.
