
Operational Deputy Manager

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will provide support to people who may be living with severe Learning Disabilities, Autism and behaviours that challenge. The service users may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the clinical management of Gregory house including leadership and development of all departments. You will be maximising the financial performance of Gregory House, be an active member of Operational Clinical Governance and deputise for the Registered Manager.
With experience from within the care sector as a senior employee, you will assist with the strategic development of the care home, which will see you abide by and work towards Elysium’s objectives and business plans.
What you will be doing:
- Support the day-to-day operational management of the service
- Lead, motivate, and develop staff to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care
- Ensure compliance with company policies and CQC standards
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required
- Support financial performance, including budget oversight
- Promote a positive culture focused on teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with families, stakeholders, and external agencies
- Support recruitment, retention, and staff development
- Contribute to audits, governance processes, and service improvement plans
- Maintain effective health and safety oversight
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
- Level 5 Leadership & Management (or willing to work towards)
- Experience in health and social care, ideally supporting individuals with LD/Autism
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of CQC standards and compliance requirements
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence and ability to work across sites
- Good IT and digital skills
Where you will be working:
Location: Furness Road, Workington, Cumbria, CA14 3PD
You will be working at Gregory House, a Learning Disability and Autism service, providing care and support to 22 adults who have a Learning Disability and/or Mental Health needs.
You will work alongside the team helping to provide a specialist provision. The service has an enhanced level of support to allow people with continuing challenging behaviour and high support needs to be cared for in the least restrictive setting possible, but within a service which is robust and structured enough to meet their ongoing needs and risks.
