Nursery Teacher – High Wycombe

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming early years setting in High Wycombe, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting children in their first years of formal education.

The nursery provides a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment where children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Staff work collaboratively and are supported by experienced leaders who value professional development and high-quality teaching.

As a Nursery Teacher, you will plan and deliver play-based and structured activities that support children’s learning and development across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging nursery activities in line with EYFS

  • Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and communication development

  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress

  • Work 1:1 or with small groups as needed

  • Promote positive behaviour and routines

  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, and carers

  • Collaborate with nursery support staff and colleagues

  • Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment

  • Follow safeguarding, health, and safety policies

  • Contribute to staff meetings and professional development

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS or Early Years teaching qualification

  • Have experience working in nursery or EYFS settings

  • Be nurturing, patient, and child-centred

  • Be creative, organised, and reflective in practice

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
