Overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established 41-bedded residential care home in Manchester for an experienced Night Senior Care Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and compassionate senior carer who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and leading night teams effectively.

The home supports elderly residents, including those living with dementia, and prides itself on maintaining a safe, calm, and supportive environment during night hours.



Key Responsibilities

As a Night Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe running of the home overnight. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supervising the night care team to ensure high standards of care are consistently delivered

  • Providing hands-on, person-centred care to residents, including personal care, mobility support, and continence care

  • Administering medication safely in line with company policies

  • Conducting regular welfare checks and responding promptly to residents' needs during the night

  • Acting as the main point of contact overnight, escalating concerns appropriately to on-call management or emergency services when required

  • Supporting residents with dementia, ensuring reassurance, comfort, and dignity at all times

  • Completing accurate documentation, including care notes, incident reports, and handover notes

  • Ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures are followed at all times

  • Supporting new or junior staff members and leading by example

  • Maintaining a calm, reassuring environment throughout the night



Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Care Assistant within a residential or nursing home

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (essential)

  • Experience supporting elderly residents, including those with dementia

  • Confident in medication administration and senior responsibilities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
