What you will do

  • Lead and oversee complex child protection cases, providing expert safeguarding advice, guidance, and decision-making.
  • Chair statutory safeguarding meetings, strategy discussions, and child protection planning meetings as required.
  • Oversee Section 47 enquiries, ensuring timely and proportionate responses to safeguarding concerns.
  • Provide practice leadership, coaching, and mentoring to social workers and practitioners across Children’s Services.

Requirements

  • A Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent recognised social work qualification.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in safeguarding and child protection practice.
  • Advanced training in child protection, risk assessment, or safeguarding leadership is desirable.
  • Current registration with Social Work England SWE.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within statutory children's social care.
  • Extensive experience in child protection, safeguarding, and complex case management.
