We are looking for an Individual Needs Assistant - 8.45am to 3.20pm 5 days a week (30 minutes unpaid for lunch) to work a total of 30 hours and 25 minutes per week.

We are a primary school with a Nursery and special facility in Lewes, set in fantastic grounds and situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park. We are only a short train/bus ride from Eastbourne and Brighton. We have supportive, caring and dedicated staff and governing body and fabulous children.

Would you like to be part of our great team?

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in supporting children across the primary age group and children with additional needs.

  • A willingness to undertake training and medical responsibilities.

  • A calm, caring and resilient character.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with every child.

  • Good communication skills and is a strong team player.

  • Flexibility and creativity.

What can we offer you?

  • Fantastic children to work with.

  • A friendly staff team.

  • A range of training to supplement knowledge you already have.

  • Support from the leadership team.

Our Ofsted inspection in September 2022, stated that, 'this is a great place to learn. Leaders have high aspirations and hopes for pupils to achieve all they are capable of. They also care deeply about the well-being of every child.'

If you think you have all the skills above, we would welcome you as part of our team.

We would encourage a visit to the school, please phone or email to arrange this or to have an informal discussion with the Headteacher.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and therefore each post is subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring service) check.

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
