Role Purpose
As the Child Protection Lead IRO, you will provide robust scrutiny, challenge, and oversight of child protection processes. You will chair child protection conferences and Child in Need reviews, promote multi-agency collaboration, and ensure practice complies with statutory frameworks and departmental policies. You will also contribute to policy development, training, and quality assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities

Lead on child protection practice for Family Help and Safeguarding teams.

Promote high-quality, consistent practice, with a particular focus on supporting ethnic minority communities.

Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, Working Together guidance, and local procedures.

Act as a consultant and advisor to practitioners and managers, supporting continuous improvement.

Build and maintain local networks that strengthen child protection partnerships.

Chair child protection conferences and CIN reviews, ensuring effective planning and decision-making.
