Key Responsibilities

  • Chair Looked After Child (LAC) review meetings in line with statutory timescales.

  • Ensure care plans are outcome-focused and reflect the individual needs and wishes of each child.

  • Monitor and challenge delays in permanency and placement planning.

  • Assess and review key areas including education, health, placement suitability, and contact arrangements.

  • Provide independent oversight to ensure best practice and escalate safeguarding concerns where necessary.

  • Advocate for children's rights and access to services, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people.

  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals and agencies.

  • Maintain accurate reports and records within required timeframes.

  • Contribute to service improvements through constructive challenge and feedback.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

  • Strong experience within statutory children's services.
