Key Responsibilities

Chair Looked After Child (LAC) review meetings in line with statutory timescales.

Ensure care plans are outcome-focused and reflect the individual needs and wishes of each child.

Monitor and challenge delays in permanency and placement planning.

Assess and review key areas including education, health, placement suitability, and contact arrangements.

Provide independent oversight to ensure best practice and escalate safeguarding concerns where necessary.

Advocate for children's rights and access to services, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.

Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary professionals and agencies.

Maintain accurate reports and records within required timeframes.

Contribute to service improvements through constructive challenge and feedback.
Person Specification

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
