What you will do

  • Supervised Contact: Supervise and facilitate family time contact sessions between children and family members.
  • Safeguarding: Ensure all interactions are safe, structured, and in compliance with safeguarding procedures.
  • Observation & Recording: Objectively observe, record, and report on family interactions.
  • Child-Focused Practice: Promote child-focused engagement and foster positive relationships during sessions.
  • Reporting: Draft detailed reports for social workers and court proceedings as required.
  • Transport Support: Assist with transporting children to and from contact sessions when necessary.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate closely with social workers and other professionals to support care plans.
  • Conflict Management: Manage challenging situations with calmness and professionalism.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience working with children or families in roles such as support work, childcare, or youth work.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • Excellent communication and observation skills.
  • Ability to remain impartial and professional in sensitive situations.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, if required for travel.
