Deputy Nursery Manager
£39,000 per year
This warm and welcoming setting provides children with plenty of space to explore, learn and develop. Large, airy rooms flow freely into a spacious, secure garden, making indoor and outdoor learning a natural part of the nursery day and giving children the freedom to follow their curiosity through play.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you’ll help lead the wider team, maintain high standards and ensure children receive consistently nurturing, stimulating and individualised Early Years experiences.
What We’re Looking For
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above – essential
- You must have worked at Third in Charge level as a minimum
- Previous Deputy Nursery Manager experience would be preferred
- Strong and confident knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop Early Years practitioners
- Experience supporting high standards across the wider nursery, rather than solely within one room
- Strong organisational and decision-making skills
- A nurturing, proactive and hands-on approach to leadership

Supporting the Whole Nursery
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the successful day-to-day running of the setting
- Provide visible leadership and guidance across the nursery
- Lead, motivate and support practitioners to deliver consistently high-quality care and education
- Support staff deployment and ensure appropriate ratios are maintained
- Help embed the EYFS and maintain strong standards of teaching and learning
- Oversee observations, assessments and planning to ensure children's individual needs are supported
- Support safeguarding, health and safety, and wider regulatory compliance
- Mentor and develop practitioners, encouraging best practice across the team
- Build positive relationships with parents and families
- Support the Nursery Manager with continuous improvement and preparation for Ofsted
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence
