Deputy Nursery Manager

£32,000 per annum | 40 Hours per Week | Good Ofsted Rating

This purpose-built setting has been thoughtfully designed around children's learning and development. Large, airy rooms are tailored to different age groups and filled with high-quality resources that encourage exploration, imagination, independence and learning through play.

Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you'll be a visible and hands-on leader across the setting, supporting practitioners, monitoring the quality of practice and helping ensure the nursery continues to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
  • Previous senior or leadership experience within an early years setting.
  • Experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager, Third in Charge, Room Leader or similar senior role.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Confidence supporting, mentoring and developing nursery practitioners.
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • A hands-on, positive approach to nursery leadership.

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to practitioners across the setting.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues, encouraging consistently high standards of early years practice.
  • Monitor the quality of care and education and support continuous improvement across the nursery.
  • Ensure the EYFS is delivered effectively and children's individual developmental needs are supported.
  • Help create stimulating learning environments that promote confidence, curiosity and independence.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Support staffing, routines and the smooth organisation of the nursery day.
  • Maintain excellent standards of safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence, taking responsibility for the smooth running of the setting.
