Deputy Nursery Manager

£39,000 per annum | 40 Hours Per Week

We're recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established early years setting that prides itself on providing outstanding care and learning experiences for young children.

The nursery offers a bright, engaging environment where children can learn through play, build confidence, and develop key skills for the future. As Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll work alongside the Nursery Manager to support the daily operation of the setting, lead and motivate the team, and help drive high standards across all areas of practice.

This opportunity is perfect for an early years leader with previous experience as a Third in Charge or Deputy Nursery Manager who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a supportive and forward-thinking nursery.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
  • Previous senior leadership experience within a nursery setting
  • Experience as a Third in Charge, Deputy Nursery Manager, or similar role
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and support colleagues

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day operation of the nursery
  • Lead and inspire the team to deliver exceptional childcare and education
  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Ensure compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and nursery policies
  • Monitor the quality of practice across the setting
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals
  • Support occupancy, parent engagement, and nursery growth
  • Step into the Nursery Manager role in their absence
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
