Service Type: 7-Bedded Mental Health Residential Service
Location: [Bognor regis]
Shift Pattern: Mixed shifts (office hours and floor-based shifts, including weekends)
Reports to: Registered / Home Manager
Role Overview
The Deputy Manager plays a key role in the operational and clinical leadership of a small, 7-bedded mental health residential service. This is a hands-on role, combining office-based responsibilities with direct support on the floor, ensuring high-quality, recovery-focused care is delivered consistently.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, the Deputy Manager will help maintain compliance, support staff performance, and provide visible leadership across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service
Provide visible leadership across mixed shift patterns
Lead by example through hands-on support on the floor when required
Care Quality & Compliance
Support compliance with CQC regulations, Mental Health Act, and best practice standards
Assist with audits, quality assurance, and inspection readiness
Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate and up to date
Direct Care & Floor-Based Responsibilities
Provide direct support to residents when required, including personal care and emotional support
Support recovery-focused care and promote independence
Essential Requirements
Experience working within mental health residential services
Previous experience in a Senior, Team Leader, or Deputy role
Confident working both on the floor and in the office
Flexible approach to mixed shifts, including weekends

Salary range
