Deputy Manager - Residential Care Home (Mental Health)

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Farnborough

We are seeking a confident, motivated Deputy Manager to join our residential care home specialising in mental health support. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting staff to perform at their best.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and compliance are maintained at all times. You will play a key role in staff development, leadership, and maintaining a positive, professional working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home
• Provide strong leadership and guidance to staff
• Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals, and support with performance management
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are person-centred and up to date
• Promote best practice in mental health care, including Positive Behaviour Support
• Support staff with physical intervention strategies where required
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies
• Act as a positive role model, demonstrating confidence and professionalism at all times

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a residential care setting, ideally within mental health or learning disabilities
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Confidence in decision-making and managing challenging situations
• Experience delivering or supporting staff supervisions
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
• Understanding of physical intervention techniques
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Previous experience in a Deputy Manager or senior role
• Relevant care or management qualifications
