Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide excellent customer care skills to ensure patients come first
Undertakes a range of delegated clinical care duties to deliver agreed plans of care, acting on own initiative
Demonstrate, encourage and assist patients in undertaking therapeutic activities within parameters of agreed care plans and under guidance of registered practitioners
To ensure patients receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and doctrines
Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individuals
To act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care and to meet standards within the NHS Plan and other relevant guidelines
Provides support and assistance to professionals in the implementation of plans of care for individual patients

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of a general education
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy or GCSEs
  • Care Certificate
Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting
  • Customer care experience
  • Experience of working on own and in a team
Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff
  • Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
  • Completed core skills competencies
  • Ability to project a professional manner and approach
