What you will do:
- Lead and manage a team of Social Workers, offering effective supervision and case oversight, alongside providing coaching and professional challenge to maintain high standards of practice.
- Oversee the management of complex cases involving Children in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and children who are looked after, ensuring proactive measures are taken to safeguard their well-being.
- Quality assure assessments, SMART plans, statutory visits, case recordings, and decision-making, ensuring work is targeted, evidence-based, and impactful for children and families.
- Ensure timely statutory interventions where necessary, including child protection planning, Public Law Outline processes, court proceedings, and care arrangements.
Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Possess a recognised Social Work qualification, such as a Degree in Social Work, PGDip/PGCert Social Work, CQSW, or DipSW.
- Demonstrable post-qualifying professional development in children's social care and management is essential.
Registration & Compliance:
- Current registration with Social Work England is required.
Experience:
- Bring significant frontline children's social work experience within a statutory local authority setting.
