About Inspire to Grow

Inspire to Grow Children’s Home is a newly developed, child-focused 2 bed residential home based in Birmingham. Our vision is to create a therapeutic, empowering, and nurturing environment where children aged 7–17 can feel safe, supported, and able to grow into confident and resilient young people.

As we work toward Ofsted registration and launch in 2026, we are seeking a highly skilled Registered Manager who will be instrumental in shaping the home’s culture, safeguarding standards, and long-term outcomes.

About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of Inspire to Grow Children's Home. You will ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted Regulations, the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the home through the Ofsted registration process
  • Ensuring full compliance with safeguarding, Quality Standards, and Children's Homes Regulations
  • Providing strong leadership to the staff team, including supervision, performance management, and training
  • Completing high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and management oversight reports
  • Ensuring the home environment is welcoming, safe, and child-centred
  • Liaising with external agencies, social workers, local authorities, and professionals
  • Managing budgets, resources, rota planning, and staffing levels
  • Driving continuous improvement and maintaining a culture of reflective, trauma-informed practice
  • Ensuring children’s voices are heard and incorporated into care planning and daily practice

Required Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent (or willing to complete within 2 years of starting the role)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential home
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory/management role
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks and regulatory compliance
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management, trauma-informed care, and child development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage complex situations
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Full enhanced DBS to be passed (cost will be covered)

Desirable:

  • Experience opening or managing a new residential home
  • Experience working with children with EBD, attachment needs, or trauma
  • Additional training such as DSL, First Aid, Team Teach, or therapeutic approaches
