Location: New Malden, KT3
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum + Ofsted-related performance bonuses
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Service: Brand new 3-bedded children's residential home (EBD)

Howard Finley Care is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced and motivated Registered Manager for a brand new children's residential service based in New Malden (KT3), supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on the startup and registration of a new home, with the support of an experienced Responsible Individual already in place. You will play a pivotal role in embedding strong foundations, developing a positive and therapeutic culture, and ensuring the service is fully compliant, child-centred, and outcomes-focused from day one.

There is also a clear progression pathway, with the opportunity to move into dual registration with an additional property once established, which will come with an increase in salary.

Key Duties:

• Lead the registration, setup, and day-to-day management of a 3-bedded EBD children's home in line with Ofsted regulations and statutory guidance.

• Develop, implement, and maintain high-quality care practices that promote positive outcomes, stability, and safeguarding for children and young people.

• Recruit, lead, and develop a skilled staff team, embedding reflective practice, accountability, and a strong safeguarding culture.

• Work closely with the Responsible Individual to ensure compliance, quality assurance, and readiness for Ofsted inspection.

• Oversee care planning, risk management, and behaviour support strategies tailored to the individual needs of young people.

• Manage budgets, rotas, and operational performance, ensuring the service is safe, effective, and sustainable.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a children's residential home - essential

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential

• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding frameworks, and quality standards - essential

• Experience working with children and young people with EBD - essential

• Confident, values-led leader with experience setting up or developing services - highly desirable
