What You Will Do:

  • Act as chair for child protection conferences, ensuring each meeting is conducted with professionalism and care.

  • Facilitate the development of high-quality child protection and safeguarding practices in line with national and local performance targets.

  • Provide advice and consultation on thresholds when an Initial Child Protection Conference is being considered.

  • Lead complex inter-agency meetings related to child protection conferences and complex abuse investigations, including meetings concerning allegations against professionals and carers.

  • Monitor and scrutinise the quality of child protection plans, challenging practices that fall short of national and local standards.

  • Resolve practice and planning issues concerning children on child protection plans and provide guidance on child protection procedures.

  • Act as a 'Champion' in a specialist area, contributing to specialist project development.
