What you will do

  • Conference Chairing: Chair Child Protection Conferences and statutory reviews for children in care, ensuring statutory timescales are met.
  • Decision Recording: Produce clear, high‑quality written records and delegate purposeful, actionable tasks following meetings.
  • Child‑Centred Practice: Ensure children's voices and lived experiences are fully represented and shape all planning decisions.
  • Systemic Practice: Promote reflective, relationship‑based practice to enhance meaningful engagement with families.
  • Plan Scrutiny: Review Child Protection Plans, Care Plans, and related documentation to confirm they are robust and outcome‑focused.
  • Professional Challenge: Provide constructive challenge to practice where required and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately.
  • LADO Support: Support Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) functions, including chairing strategy meetings when needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to audits, evaluations, and service improvement activity across Children's Services.
  • Partnership Working: Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to improve planning, safety, and outcomes for children.
