Description
Priory Hospital Chelmsford is looking to recruit a CAMHS Therapist to join the team. This is a part-time/30-hour role.

Chelmsford is one of the UK's leading treatment centres and is rated by former patients for its excellence, dedication and commitment, as well as producing outstanding treatment outcomes.

What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapies tailored to children and adolescents aged 0-18 experiencing a range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments to understand young clients' needs and formulate individualized treatment plans, involving families and carers to ensure a collaborative approach.
  • Provide a range of therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), family therapy, systemic therapy, and trauma-informed care, adapting techniques to suit developmental stages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate closely with schools, social workers, pediatricians, and other health professionals to coordinate care and ensure holistic support for the child's emotional and social wellbeing.
Maintain detailed clinical documentation in line with professional standards and contribute to ongoing service development, audits, and clinical supervision to enhance treatment outcomes and service quality.
You can find additional information in the attached job description.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional qualification in clinical or counseling psychology, psychotherapy, or a related mental health discipline, with registration or accreditation from a recognized body (e.g., BACP, HCPC, UKCP). They should have substantial experience working therapeutically with children and adolescents in a CAMHS or similar setting, demonstrating competence in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, systemic or family therapy. Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, and a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures are essential. Experience engaging with families and liaising with external agencies is highly desirable.
