What you will do:

  • Undertake assessments of service users with complex needs, including those with unconfirmed diagnoses.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate specialised care programmes using evidence-based research.

  • Promote service user involvement in care planning, respecting individual beliefs and dignity.

  • Build therapeutic relationships with service users and their support networks, communicating respectfully.

  • Serve as a professional role model for junior staff, upholding high standards and strong values.

  • Organise your own workload and assist others, adapting plans to changing priorities.

  • Contribute to service developments, and propose policy and procedure changes.

  • Collaborate actively within a multi-disciplinary team across various service areas.

  • Ensure responsible use of public funds and authorise necessary expenditures, such as timesheets.

  • Utilise data from clinical incidents to enhance audit activities and service development.

Person specification:

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse Learning Disability or a Registered Health or Social Care Professional (e.g., Social Work England, NMC, or HCPC).

  • A Degree in a relevant field of nursing/management and a Management Qualification Level 5 or above required for progression.

Registration & Compliance:

  • Registration with Social Work England, NMC, or HCPC.

Key Skills:

  • Ability to develop and implement specialised care programmes using evidence-based research.

  • Strong leadership and professional role modelling skills.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with service users and support networks.

  • Ability to organise workloads and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Experience:

  • Significant experience at Band 5 or equivalent.

  • Practice assessor or practice supervisor qualifications.
