About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join the Mental Health Team in Tameside on an ongoing locum basis. This opportunity offers flexible part-time or full-time working arrangements with a competitive hourly rate.

In this leadership role, you will support the Service Unit Manager and Team Manager in overseeing adult social care services within a mental health setting. You will contribute to service development, supervise staff, and ensure high standards of safeguarding and statutory compliance are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Support the Service Unit Manager and Team Manager in supervising social care staff

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight within the mental health team

  • Promote a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement

  • Ensure effective induction and ongoing development of team members

Service Development & Governance

  • Contribute to strategic planning and service development initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and local procedures

  • Use performance data and service user feedback to improve service delivery

  • Oversee safeguarding responsibilities and promote best practice

Human Resources & Workforce Oversight

  • Address staff welfare matters in line with Adult Social Care policies

  • Support recruitment, disciplinary processes, equal opportunities and attendance management

  • Identify and action training and development needs through appraisal processes

Salary range

  • £40 per hour
