We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join the Pre Birth Team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This full-time locum role offers a competitive rate of £34.45 per hour over an initial 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker to play a key role in safeguarding unborn children and supporting families through early intervention and effective pre-birth planning.

What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-birth assessments to identify risks and ensure the safety and welfare of unborn children.
  • Work closely with expectant parents and families, providing support, guidance, and early intervention to promote positive outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and review child-focused care and safeguarding plans in line with statutory responsibilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with health professionals, midwives, partner agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated support.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed case records, assessments, and reports in accordance with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to safeguarding meetings, case conferences, and planning discussions to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
