Role purpose

To deliver high-quality, child-centred social work practice within the Children in Care Team, providing professional leadership and oversight for complex cases. You will support care planning and permanency outcomes while mentoring and guiding social workers to improve practice and outcomes for children and young people.

What you will do

  • Manage a small, complex caseload of children in care, ensuring robust care planning and permanence planning.

  • Lead and contribute to care plans, pathway plans, and permanency decision-making processes.

  • Undertake direct work with children and young people, ensuring their wishes and feelings are central to all planning.

  • Provide professional guidance, mentoring, and case consultation to social workers within the team.
