About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adults Social Worker to join the Community Team in Oxford. This ongoing locum role offers a competitive rate of £38.00 per hour, with both part-time and full-time options available to suit your lifestyle.

Working within a frontline statutory setting, you will support adults aged 18+ with complex needs, including older adults, individuals with physical or learning disabilities, mental health needs, and those requiring safeguarding intervention. You will work in line with the Care Act 2014, promoting independence, wellbeing, and strength-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

Assessment and Care Planning

  • Undertake Care Act assessments and reviews, developing person-centred support plans that promote independence.

  • Complete Mental Capacity Assessments and make Best Interest decisions in accordance with legislation.

Safeguarding

  • Lead and contribute to safeguarding enquiries, carrying out risk assessments and implementing safeguarding plans.

  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure the protection of vulnerable adults.

Case Management

  • Manage a diverse community-based caseload.

  • Work proactively to prevent hospital admissions and facilitate timely discharge.

Multi-Agency Working

  • Liaise with health professionals, housing services, and voluntary sector organisations.

  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings to ensure coordinated and effective care planning.

Legal and Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding procedures.

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records in line with council policies and professional standards.

Salary range

  • £38 per hour
