What you will do:

• Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 and coordinate appropriate safeguarding responses.
• Complete strengths-based assessments, support planning, and reviews for adults with complex care and support needs.
• Assess and manage risk, ensuring proportionate safeguarding interventions that maintain individual rights and choice.
• Conduct Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decision-making processes where appropriate.
• Chair and participate in safeguarding meetings, case conferences, and multi-agency risk management discussions.

Person Specification:

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or an equivalent recognised Social Work qualification.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to Adult Social Care and Safeguarding.

Registration and Compliance

• Current registration with Social Work England.

Experience

• Post-qualification experience within Adult Social Care or Safeguarding Services.
• Experience undertaking complex safeguarding enquiries and managing high-risk adult cases.
• Experience working within a local authority setting and applying Care Act duties.
