Support Living Manager - Medway Towns

We are currently looking to recruit a Supported Living Manager for our client based in the Medway Towns. Detailed below are some of the responsibilities of the role and some of the main duties. Responsibilities:
-To maintain a high standard of care and support to the tenants.
-To maintain standards of performance of permanent and casual staff as laid down in the quality assurance programme.
-To provide 24 hour on-call service for the service and other establishments as agreed.
-To maintain and manage the building and fabric of the service in conjunction with the Housing Management Guidelines and Tenancy agreements.


Main duties:
-To understand and respond to the specific needs of individuals with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
-To monitor and oversee the daily running of the service.
-To create a caring and supportive environment, which promotes the physical and emotional health, security, individuality and self-esteem of all tenants.
-To protect the rights and interests of tenants by treating each person as an individual, supporting their rights and respecting and promoting (where appropriate) their views and wishes.
-To respect the rights and dignity of tenants while seeking to ensure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people.
-To establish and maintain the trust and confidence of tenants, carers and staff.
-To liaise with the National Care Standards Commission, care managers, families, carers and other agencies in providing a high quality care.
-To participate in the regular assessment and review of information on individual tenants.
-To liaise with the Training Manager and ensure that staff training needs are met.
-To participate in training in order to develop the skills necessary to provide the best support to tenants, improve and maintain your knowledge and skills.
-To co-ordinate and attend all staff and management meetings and reviews, sometimes outside your normal working hours.
-To maintain confidentiality within the service, regarding all tenants and colleagues.
-To manage the service's budget, in conjunction with the Area Manager.
-To promote high standard of record keeping throughout the service, in line with the Trust's policies and procedures and the requirements of the Care Standards Act 2000and tenancy agreements.
-To participate in the process of recruitment and selection of staff.
-To be responsible for handling of disciplinary matters, in conjunction with the Area Manager.
-To promote and maintain good industrial relations.
-To undertake such duties as are required and appropriate to the professional task.
