Home Manager - Rochester - Learning Disabilities

A new position has arisen to join a Learning Disabilities Home in the Rochester area of Kent.

Your role will be to:
*To understand and respond to the specific needs of individuals with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
*To monitor and oversee the daily running of the home.
*To create a caring and supportive environment, which promotes the physical and emotional health, security, individuality and self-esteem of all service users.
*To protect the rights and interests of service users by treating each person as an individual, supporting their rights and respecting and promoting (where appropriate) their views and wishes.
*To respect the rights and dignity of service users while seeking to ensure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people.
*To establish and maintain the trust and confidence of service users and carers.
*To liaise with CSCI, care managers, families, carers and other agencies in providing a high quality care.
*To participate in the regular assessment and review of information on individual service users.
*To directly supervise, motivate and lead staff employed in the home to ensure that their work is properly appraised and their careers developed as far as possible, enabling additional training opportunities.
*To participate in training in order to develop the skills necessary to provide the best support to service users, improve and maintain your knowledge and skills.
*To co-ordinate and attend all staff and management meetings and reviews, sometimes outside your normal working hours.
*To participate in the process of supervision and performance appraisal.
-To adhere to all Trust's policies and procedures and ensure that they are effectively implemented and adhered to.
*To report immediately any incidence, suspicion or sign of physical or verbal abuse, neglect or harm of a service user. Please see the Whistleblowing Policy and Procedure for further information.
*To maintain confidentiality within the service, regarding all service users and colleagues.
*To manage the home's budget, in conjunction with the Operational Manager.
*To promote high standard of record keeping throughout the home, in line with the Trust's policies and procedures and the requirements of the Care Standards Act 2000.
*To monitor and adhere to all the guidelines and standards as laid down in the Care Standards Act 2000.
*To participate in the process of recruitment and selection of staff.
