Overview of live in care jobs

Live in care jobs tend to be associated with jobs involving long term elderly care (but this isn’t necessarily always the case). Not only are these full-time job and income prospects, but they are often an opportunity for you to enhance the life of someone nearing the end of theirs. Live in care jobs are in demand across the country, with hundreds of agencies frequently positing open job positions for caregivers. Interested in finding a live in care job prospect? Keep reading to find out what the job entails before you settle.

Description of Live In Care Jobs Seniors frequently need live-in care, since this provides them with the needed around-the-clock care both day and night. As a live-in caretaker, you will typically work a few days at a time, sleeping overnight at the client’s house. Your food will be provided for by your client during your live-in shifts, as well as a place to sleep. Your sleep will for the most part remain undisturbed, except for a few possible waking periods in the event of medication administration, assistance walking to the bathroom, or anything else.

In most live in care jobs, an agency will be hiring you that offers scheduled weekly or biweekly payments. Local council social care budgets sometimes cover the cost of live-in candidates who are professionally registered, or it can be organised privately.

It is often felt that it’s best if, on a professional level, you believe you can get along with the person you care for. If you’re a registered and trained healthcare professional, you already have the training and skills necessary to apply for some live in care jobs. But don’t under-estimate the human qualities of compassion, kindness and care.
