We are seeking to appoint a committed and reflective teacher, who has an understanding of how to meet the additional needs of pupils in a specialist provision, to join our vibrant and enthusiastic staff. The school provides specialist support for both boys and girls aged 8 to 19 years who are on the autistic spectrum, who may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and a lack of social understanding.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a small group of young people with autism and complex needs, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants. Additional training will be available where appropriate.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
" Need to be available for the Interviews & Assessment day will be on Tuesday 6th February 2018
" A fully qualified teacher with a good understanding of the range of different issues impacting on an individual's ability to enhance their learning during an acute episode or healthcare crisis resulting in an inpatient stay.
" A sound understanding of the current legislation and statutory regulations relating to educational and care and a detailed knowledge of the National Curriculum.
" Share our passion for high aspiration and achievement for all
" Be able to demonstrate excellent skills in planning and reporting across the curriculum for key stage 4.
" Have excellent interpersonal skills
" Be highly organised and adaptable
" Be committed to working in partnership with parents and outside agencies
" The following skills would be of benefit to the role:
" A good knowledge of autism and/or experience of working with young people on the autistic spectrum
" Experience in teaching maths and/or science preferable.
For all roles we require a minimum of two references. References provided must cover the last 5 years.
